What
does a Pre-Sell item mean and why? |
| Normally
items that we advertise are readily available and in stock but there are
instances where product is due in shortly or has to be custom made like
upholstery where stocking every color for every make, model, and body
style is just not possible or economically wise to do.
eBay along with the Federal Trade Commission
have rules & regulations in place when it comes to customer orders
from sellers by mail, telephone, fax, or on the Internet. It is not
our purpose to sell items, collect money and have you wait forever for
your product. We deal with almost a hundred different vendors with thousands
of various parts which is a huge task to monitor itself, so pre-selling
items is one way for us to manage it.

Why
advertise it if we don't physically have it? |
Just because
we physically don't have something in our hands doesn't mean that
it is not readily available in stock with the manufacturer or our supplier.
Again, to stock everything for every car is just not practical. This
doesn't mean that it is not available as in most instances it is in
stock with the manufacturer/supplier for shipment directly to you
as a "drop ship". Drop ships are more common place then
most realize and a majority of the sellers out there use this method
as a standard business practice.
In addition,
like with interior upholstery, the most popular options, colors or
styles are in stock and ready to ship. Less popular items are still
available but are produced on demand to fill the order.
Also, eBay has
become an international shopping ground that most people are familiar
with because it gives the buyer a free place to compare product &
prices and not feel trapped into ones website or catalog. If we don't
advertise the variety of products that are available then one may
not be aware of its existence or availability.
