 | Q : What is FEEDBACK? |
 | R : Feedback is a way for buyers and sellers to protect the public against unscrupulous and dishonest people. A "neutral" or "negative" rating should NEVER be posted unless a satisfactory solution to the problem has first been attempted. Feedback is the ebay public badge of trust for buyer and seller alike, and should be considered very seriously. |
 | Q : Who are you? |
 | R : I am a 53-year old software developer and adjunct professor of history at a local community college. I survived raising 4 teenagers (2 boys, 2 girls) and now live in suburbia with 3 spoiled dogs, my wife (also spoiled), 1 brain-damaged cat, and a batallion of squirrels who love my bird feeder. I recreate on my 2007 Harley XL 1200C Sportster. |
 | Q : Do you ship internationally? |
 | R : Yes. I have shipped all over Europe, India, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and South America with no problems other than buyer shock at how much the shipping companies charge. |
 | Q : What forms of payment do you accept? |
 | R : I accept payment directly through PayPal (preferred) and money orders/certified checks. |
 | Q : What is your policy for items damaged or lost during shipping? |
 | R : Since you pay for shipping and have a tracking number and declared value for your order, lost merchandise during shipping is an issue between you and the shipper. I will refund the price paid for merchandise damaged during shipping, but not the cost of shipping as that is an issue between you can the shipper. Consider shipping insurance. |
 | Q : What do you mean by "stock art may not reflect real art?" |
 | R : eBay offers a look-up service for sellers to find canned descriptions and photographs of books, music CDs, VHS tapes, and DVDs. Because the release cover art of these items change from time-to-time, the cover art on the actual item may vary from the one provided by the eBay service. If the art is missing altogether, it will be noted. |
 | Q : What is your philosophy of life? |
 | R : Don't take yourself too damn seriously and always try to do the right thing. |
 | Q : Do you combine shipping? |
 | R : Yes. Whenever possible I combine shipping to reduce shipping costs to you. I also try to find the least expensive shipping medium through USPS and UPS, unless a particular one is specified by you. Note, however, that the cost savings for combining items goes down as per item weight increases. Local pick-up is always an option as well. |
 | Q : Is there a limit to the minimum bid you can start an item? |
 | R : In practical terms, yes. Even though you pay for shipping and shipping materials, eBay nickels-and-dimes sellers for everything -> listing an tiem, buy-it-now option, image enhancements, starting AND ending bid amounts, listing enhancements like bold letters(!), using PayPal for payment, shipping, and even refunds! eBay is making lots of money.... |
 | Q : How soon do you ship from the time you receive payment? |
 | R : Shipping within 1 business day is guaranteed. |
 | Q : What is your return policy? |
 | R : My return policy is very simple and old-fashioned, perhaps even naïve. Trust is a reciprocal relationship; you as a buyer have given me your trust and deserve mine. If you are not completely satisfied with any item acquired from Dirt Road Technology, I will agree to whatever reasonable terms you suggest that will make the transaction right for you |
 | Q : Do you believe in a love at first sight? |
 | R : Yes, I'm certain that it happens all the time. |
 | Q : When can I expect my order to arrive? |
 | R : The average delivery time within the continental US is under 1 week; for Canada and Mexico, 10 days is typical (depends on US Customs); all other international deliveries average 2 weeks. |
 | Q : Why are you selling stuff on eBay? |
 | R : It began as an experiment to see if de-cluttering my house and garage on eBay would have some advantage over simply hauling stuff to the landfill. It was then I realized that, truly, one man's refuse is another's treasure! After 20 years of raising kids, there's lots of clutter left around here! |
 | Q : How much is the Shipping and Handling Charge? |
 | R : I charge only enough to cover the cost of shipping materials; no cost is added for "handling." Typcially, this is about US$1.25 for a box or padded envelope, plus about US$.60 for packing material, shipping label, and printing ink. Petrol and wear-and-tear on my car to get to and from the shipping depot is on me. |
